Michael Johnson

Michael Johnson retired from Williams in 2008. At the time of his retirement, Johnson had served as Williams' senior vice president and chief adminstrative officer since May 2002. Johnson joined Williams in December 1998 as senior vice president of human resources and administration. He was responsible for leading all aspects of the company's shared services units, which include information technology, human resources, corporate real estate and facilities, enterprise sourcing, security, aviation and community relations. Johnson was also chairman of the board of the Williams Foundation.
Johnson graduated from North Carolina Central University in 1969 with a bachelor's in busniess administration and is also a graduate of the Advanced Executive Program from the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University.
Johnson is a director of CenterPoint Energy, Patriot Coal Corporation, Buffalo Wild Wings Inc. and the QuikTrip Corporation. His current community involvement includes serving as trustee of Oklahoma State University-Tulsa, trustee of Bethune-Cookman University, executive board member of the Oklahoma Conference for Community and Justice, board member of the Oklahoma Affiliate of the Health Care Service Corporation and board member of the Woods Foundation.
Michael lives in Tulsa, Okla. with his wife, Libby Johnson, who is also very active in the community. They have two sons, Michael Jr. and Paul. Michael Jr. is a director of human resources for Abbott Laboratories in Austin, Texas and Paul is a financial trainee for Bank of Oklahoma in Tulsa.
